Short Profile

Professor Kim received her doctoral degree in Tourism Management from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Master’s degree in Hospitality Management from Purdue University. Prior to joining the faculty at City Tech, Dr. Kim held positions of Assistant Professor and Visiting Research Professor at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, Western Illinois University, Temple University, and the National Laboratory for Tourism and Electronic Commerce (NLTeC). She also held positions in the hospitality industry such as Marketing Specialist, Sales Manager, and Tour Guide. Dr. Kim has authored or co-authored research articles in publications such as the Journal of Travel and Tourism Marketing, the Journal of Travel Research, the Journal of Technology and Tourism, and the International Journal of Business, Humanities and Technology. Her research interests include Information Communication Technology, Electronic Commerce, and Marketing Management for Hospitality. Professor Kim has not only completed a number of studies with Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs) and Convention and Visitors Bureaus (CVBs), but also provided online and offline marketing consulting services to hospitality businesses. She is a member of the Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education, and the Travel and Tourism Research Association.
